EDITOR'S NOTE:
We have arrived into the alluring months of
spring—the signs are all around us with the trees blossoming
and the birds chirping.
Wow! The Design Contest Winners are finally
in! The past 6 months I’ve posted various design contests. The
winners are listed below!
The Home and Garden Show was a success ...
both in Calgary and Edmonton. The results are in, there is
more consumer awareness and membership is up, simply due to
the Home and Garden Show Producers! We are most grateful to
all their promotions of NKBA PPC and have listed them proudly
on our website as a sponsor! Bonus volunteer NKBA designers
got great exposure! !
KBIS is passed ... another successful show in
the windy city of Chicago, some Canadian’s were there picking
up awards including our own Prairies Chapter NKBA - Student of
Lake Land College: Teresa Simon! Be sure to Save - the - Date:
2011 KBIS is in Las Vegas.
Some fun times are planned for the rest of
this year, and I’m just so excited to tell you about these! First: EDUCATION (yes that is actually fun
for some people) Second: a PARTY, and Third: the GOLF Tourney! Be sure to pencil in
all those dates listed below and join in to network with us on
all these special occasions!

Drafting Course June 8 & 22

chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath
Association.

While design software is being used more and
more in our industry, many of us still find great benefit in
being able to prepare a hand-drawn perspective drawing, floor
plan, or elevation in order to communicate our ideas to our
clients. This exciting and challenging course will provide you
with the basic drafting skills and techniques you need to
perfect your drawings and impress your clients. During this
two-part course your certified instructor will focus on the
everyday applications of drafting techniques including: the
use of drafting tools, line weight conventions, the universal
graphic language, floor plans, elevations, sections, and
axonometric 3D drawings.
This course will be especially beneficial for
anyone planning on writing the NKBA’s design exams to become a
Certified Kitchen Designer or Certified Bath Designer.
